a) A self - questions 

A self-question is formed easily, from the verb in the sentence PERFORM BEFORE THE SUBJECT. Nothing else on the sentence does not change.

 

VERB TO BE + SUBJECT

 

She is in London. 

Is she in London?

Yes, she is. / No, she is not.

 

He is a taxi driver.

Is he a taxi driver?

Yes, he is. / No, he isn't.

 

We are friends.

Are we friends?

Yes, we are. / No, we're not.

 

b) Questions formed by helping verb

We use helping verb "DO". It can never change the place in the sentence. We always put helping verb to the beginning.

 

HELPING VERB "DO" + SUBJECT + VERB

 

You speak English.

Do you speak English?

Yes, I do. / No, I don't.

 

They stay at the hotel.

Do they stay at hotel?

Yes, they do. / No, they don't.

 

Peter cooks today.

Does Peter cook today?

Yes, he does. / No, he don't.
